AOPA Expo Parade of the PlanesParade Of The Planes In Downtown Palm Springs
AOPA Expo 2006 in Palm Springs, California, saw the largest-ever parade of the planes with more than 100 aircraft taxiing under their own power from Palm Springs International Airport to the convention center in downtown Palm Springs.
'Palm Springs is the only Expo location where we can host a parade of the planes through the city streets', said AOPA President Phil Boyer. Spectators saw not only piston-powered aircraft like the Cirrus SR20, the Cessna 182, the Columbia 400, but also jets like the brand-new Cessna Citation Mustang. A wide variety of LSA also made their way through the city streets. AOPA Expo 2006 in November attracted nearly 13000 visitors and over 300 exhibitors. AOPA Expo 2007 will be held in Hartford, Connecticut from October 4 through October 6.
